30 years ago, tSB’s founding cohort of 10 mentors came together to light a fire of opportunity and growth for a small group of BIPoC youth.

This spark of action — ignited by community care — is what allowed tSB to serve that first, and many subsequent, generations. Still, less than 1/3 of youth from marginalized communities experience free and low cost access to mentorship, leadership development and outdoor adventure. Need may currently outstrip our capacity, but we won’t risk this spark going cold.
