Sonia (she/her) joined tSB in October 2023 as an MSW intern for her first-year practicum with UW. She received her degree in psychology from NYU in 2020, and previously worked in homeless outreach, education, and child welfare.
After her MSW program, she hopes to get her clinical license and eventually become a therapist specializing in working with multicultural youth. She is very excited to learn more about the roles of nature and somatic movement in processing trauma and she is always happy to chat with people about their ideas.
Sonia has lived in multiple other states and even Canada, but she completely fell in love with Seattle when she moved here in 2021. She loves to go out in nature and enjoy the fresh air, but sometimes she also just loves to curl up at home with a good book. Outside of work and school, you can find her practicing martial arts and helping coach kids in Brazilian jiu-jitsu.
