Melanie (she/her) joined the tSB team in February 2023 as the Development Coordinator. Born and raised in Seattle, she is grateful for the ways nature and the outdoors have shaped her identity and sense of community.
Melanie received her B.A. in Creative Writing at Sarah Lawrence College. During her time there, she was involved with writing communities both in and outside of the institution and worked as an editor for the College’s literary magazine. She is passionate about creating supportive and equitable spaces for people to engage with poetry and art as a collective.
After graduating in 2021, Melanie returned to Seattle where she worked as a freelance communications consultant for an indigenous-led environmental justice coalition. She is excited to learn from the tSB team and use her passion and experience to serve the community. In her free time, Melanie enjoys yoga, stand-up paddle boarding, writing poetry, and making collages with found objects from nature.
