Fumiya (he/him) originally joined the tSB family in 2012 as a snowboard instructor and volunteer. Looking for a way to give back to the local community and share his love of snowboarding, tSB proved to be the fit he was looking for. Over the last decade with tSB, he has learned that there is much more to the mission than just outdoor adventure and has grown as an individual throughout the process. He is continuously amazed by the dedication, people, and impact the group brings together and looks forward to driving the mission onward as a board member.
Born in Japan, raised in Michigan, and Seattle transplant since 2010. He bought a one way ticket to Seattle to get closer to the mountains he loved and hasn’t looked back since. Fumiya has held a number of jobs throughout the years from customer service to supply chain management. Currently he has been applying his problem solving skills in the software development world as a senior engineer. When not snowboarding he enjoys mountain biking, reading, listening to music, spending time with friends, and hanging out with his cat Winslow.
